No Secrets Anymore

                                                                      Miss The Past

I had no idea what was going on. The only thing I could still remember was seeing her lying on the floor. Her body was cold and stable, her eyes were shining and remained opened for as long ad I could keep mine hooked on her last sight.

And then, I remembered very well that I begged God to take me and the rest of the intruders far away from my beloved partner in life, leaving her alone without being tempted in killing us during her awareness, before knowing she would have to taste blood for the rest of her supernatural living. There was blood all over my face and I was still shaking, but her face and lips were clean. She hadn’t tasted blood so she and my secret were safe for the time being.

Fears haunted my mind for a moment and then my thoughts came back. There was something weird going on with me; I just wanted to escape that place with the rest before happening something she would in no way control and would definitely regret for the rest of her life. I was so absorbed in thinking about her without realizing that I was responsible for her new condition, responsible for her soon to be supernatural reincarnation.

The following moments it was like I had left myself hanging above a black hole where the light would never reach my soul again. I had no idea who and what exactly I had become. There was no explanation; I could even hear the thoughts of every human being standing in front and around us.

And then, the truth slapped me in the face and made me realize that there was no turning back. I rolled my eyes because I was in panic, my heart was beating too fast and my thoughts were running across my mind like a strong waterfall that had no ending.

I opened my eyes and broke a soldier’s neck like a plastic glass. Call me crazy, you could say I was insane, but I felt fine after killing these four people. They had murdered my pregnant wife and were planning to take us and our baby. I felt no pain, I was not feeling guilty. And that was the most frightening of all because as a human being I would never feel fine after killing anyone no matter what.

Now I knew what I had become, a ruthless, bloody creature that was seeking for revenge. And I was so angry that I would never stop chasing those who gave the orders to kill us. I would find them and I wouldn’t be satisfied till their death.

When the corporation I worked for kicked me out of their final plans, I had already managed to complete the formula of something dangerous and life threatening experiment. There were no proofs or documents to develop something like that and sooner or later they would try to find me and beg me to save their asses from the death they had spread across the globe.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, I was the only one who was very well aware of the end of the fiasco. No one from those who were supposed to protect us all seemed to care about humanity. I just wished I had taken the chance to confess everything to her. If only I had more time to explain her everything.

We would be powerful and would never have to worry about the death spreaders. I had managed to make us superior to all species and would never hesitate to move on with any of our plans. And soon, our son would join us; he would be like us, a powerful vampire whose powers would never be limited. I had turned because of his birth; my wife’s hands on my face had turned me. The blood on her skin, on her fingers had made me wake up.

When the soldiers hit me on the head they killed me and then things went all wrong. I was not planning to use the formula immediately, they had made me do it and I could only guess about the future of us, moreover about the future of my beloved, missing boy.

And, now, she was here, next to the room I was trying to pull my head back together. And my son was still missing. I had no idea whether he had discovered his identity or not. It was not supposed to happen like this, and I had no idea what would happen to him.

I missed him so much, like I missed his mother all this time. And now, it was my last chance to save them both and keep us united for the best of all.

For a moment my mind traveled back the time, the memories started tearing my flesh apart like deadly firing nails...
